Location: 
The Hermitage of the Holy Martyrs is located in the eastern end of the Paseo de la Ribera, next to the Martos Mill.

Origin: 
According to the records, here took place that the martyrdom and burial of Saint Acisclo and Saint Victoria, patron saints of the city of Cordoba. As a result, a basilica was built for their worship, which eventually gave way to a convent. Centuries later, when it was abandoned, it ended up in ruins and the hermitage we can see today was built.

Use: 
From the beginning, and despite the evolution of the building, it was always intended for the safekeeping and worship of the city’s patron saints. Although their relics were moved centuries later, the Paleo-Christian sarcophagus in which the remains of both were deposited is still preserved inside. 
Saint Ferdinand III´s reconquest of Cordoba allowed the Basilica of the Holy Martyrs to be enlarged, handing it over to the Cistercians, who converted it into a monastery.  
In 2005, this hermitage was reopened for weekly worship, the reason being the seventeenth centenary of the death of the Holy Martyrs of Cordoba.
