Guadalcabrillas Tower

Location:
It is located on the Avenida del Alcázar, between the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and the San Rafael bridge.

Origin:
Although the work we see today is fruit of reconstructions during the lower medieval age, its origin seems to be from the Almohad era (18th century).

Use:
The political instability during the last Islamic period in Cordoba caused the leaders to reinforce both the city and the river´s defence through constructions such as the Calahorra Tower and the Castillo de la Judería (Castle of the Jewish Quarter), a fortified closure in which the Guadalcabrillas Tower was included.
