Location: 
The Moon Gate (Puerta de la Luna) is located in the western sector of the Medina´s walled area, a few metres from the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Puerta de Almodóvar.

Origin: 
Although most of the historic entrances located in this western part of the city wall date back to Roman times, the Puerta de la Luna is actually a historical forgery, as its opening dates back to the restoration process of this part of the city carried out in the 1960s.
