Miraflores Park
Location:
It is located in the Miraflores area, on the south bank between the San Rafael, Miraflores and Arenal bridges.
Origin:
Under the direction of Cordoban architect Juan Cuenca, it was built in the 90s as part of the ambitious project to redevelop the river. The area is home to the Andalusian Contemporary Creation Centre and the El Salam architectural complex. The design of the sculpture was led by Agustín Ibarrola as part of Team 57, to which Cuenca also belongs, along with other creative specialists in different artistic facets. The sculptural work has been symbolised as a Peace tribute, but the origin of its design is based on a profound study of geometry and space.
Use:
The large, open, green area, divided into several terraces, is mainly used for recreational purposes. The promenade and grass areas for relaxation, together with two playgrounds for children, are the main leisure activities. The perfect complement to the cultural visits to the Art Creation Centre.
