Jewish House
Location:
The Casa del Judío is an ancestral home. It is the result of the fusion of different lineages extending along Horno del Cristo street with two different façades. The main one can be found on Rey Heredia Street and the second one in Jerónimo Páez square, opposite the former palace of the Páez de Castillejo family, now the Archaeological Museum.
Origin:
Despite the fact that this ancestral home is set in an undeniable historical setting, on the ancient lands attributed to the Roman theatre, its origin is established after the Christian conquest of Cordoba during the first half of the 13th century. This was when Ferdinand III carried out the distribution of the “Casas Altas”, where the current Casa del Judío is located.
