Location: 
Continuing along the western side of the walled enclosure of the Medina, a few metres from the Puerta de la Luna, there is a sculpture dedicated to the Andalusian physician and philosopher, Averroes. In addition, in the area around the Synagogue, Averroes has a street named in his honour.

Origin: 
Like many other sculptures dedicated to illustrious Cordoban figures, the monument designed to commemorate Averroes was created by sculptor Pablo Yusti Conejo. This white stone sculpture of Averroes was unveiled in 1967 and is located in the iconic Cairuan Street.
