Bethlehem Tower

Location:
The Belén Tower is located flanking the San Basilio quarter, traditionally known as the Alcázar Viejo quarter. This ancient defensive tower is located just a few metres from the Royal Stables and the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs.

Origin:
During the second half of the 12th century, the city of Cordoba was reinforced in its southwest corner, with the construction of three military fortifications that were intended to protect mainly the Andalusian Alcazar and the bridge. Several defensive towers were also built, including the Torre de Belén (Bethlehem Tower).
