Arab House

Location:
Number nine Samuel de los Santos Gener is home to the well-known Casa Árabe. This cultural centre is located in the eastern part of the historic centre of Cordoba.

Origin:
The Casa Árabe headquarters is the result of the union of five palatial dwellings dating from the 14th and 16th centuries. This former residence is made up of four large courtyards that stand out for their arches, plasterwork with plant motifs and the reuse of materials from the Islamic period. Later, between 1923 and 1959, this Mudejar house accommodated the Archaeological Museum of Córdoba. After leaving behind its use as a museum institution, this former home became the headquarters of the Casa Árabe (Arab House), an institution dependent on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
