House of Sefarad

Location:
The House of Sefarad is located in the heart of the Jewish quarter of Cordoba, just opposite the Synagogue, making the Calle Judíos a true emblem of this community.

Origin:
In 2004, the Casa de Sefarad, also known as the House of Memory, was inaugurated in Cordoba. This cultural project, which began as a private initiative, came to rescue the legacy, tradition and culture of the Sephardic community from oblivion, which had been particularly punished over the centuries.
The building where it is located can be dated back to the 14th century, having been converted into a tenement house in the 19th century. However, it was not until the end of the 20th century that the proposal arose to convert it into a cultural centre to showcase Spanish Jewish tradition.
